How long does the bow’s length have to be for it to be 40#? I’ve got a few tent poles, but just joining 2 of them yields 140cm in length, and i’m a bit worries that making 40# out of a 140cm tent pole bow would break.

i think i will do this and i will use and some dry wood from my pomegranade tree to add some draw weight because the metal i will use its much thinner. do you think it will work?

Could you make a take down bundle bow? Like in the film the book of Eli.

Brilliant that is Malc. This bow would be improved by making it 67″ & 28″ of draw. Remember the longer & heavier arrow will give a terrible strype.

Bloodyhell malc, that is a good idea for a bundle bow.
56lb draw from tentpoles, thats remarkable.

@johnjayrambo11111 that would do it, I reckon. A layer of good gaffa tape.
And/or just wear eye protection!

Very nice. I’m planning to make one with ski poles. They do break them often here, so I hope to find some broken ones to make a bow. If I don’t ,I try to find some cheap ones on flea market. New ski poles are just too expensive to use.
