Thanks Nitpicker, appreciate the time you put into this comment, but I have access to wilkepedia as well.

I did not mention the Marlin because it’s not my favorite. This is a review of the AR7 and why I like it. Enjoy it………..or not.

@Yankeeprepper ….LOL….I ain’t that blind and hit an old mailbox at 50 yards with my old remington 870 using slugs. Problem is it takes me a while to line it up. Oh well I am getting older but crazy like a fox 😉

    @CoinsFreedom
    Big scatter gun or claymores?

  6. CoinsFreedom | May 7, 2010 at 3:01 am |

Nice video. This AR-7 would be a nice tool for my cubbies to learn on. I am an older vet with I-Love-Me-Wall expert quals. Problem is I see 20/20 down range & reading glasses. This causes a blurr in my sights. Reccomendations? Thanks

CCW and some really cheap crap I bought at Gander Mountain called Peter’s.

who the hell is thumbing down all the comments.Btw good video.Damn i should get one lol! itd be reallly good to get the barrel threaded for a silencer.Get a spring with less push on it so you can cycle them subsonic rounds :]

Like all kids, I didn’t think I was dumb but Now I realize I didn’t know nearly as much as I thought I did.

Yank as for subsonic I hav a Walther Hunter .22 pellet rifle that does pretty good, but for a regular .22 your rifle is an excellent choice. Ive always liked the fact it can stow away in a backpack. Hav u ever fired a fn fal? I hav a belgium made 1 in 7.62 nato. Its what I use to hunt deer when I hav to reach out and touch something past 100 yards.

@yankeeprepper good vid. I’ve always thawt this was an excellent survival rifle. As for quiet though I have a Walthe Hunter pellet rifle in .22 and it droped a germanshepherd size mutt that was wild n very unfriendly.

at first when i saw this vid i was wondering why you were showing us a stock but then i just realized i have this same weapon but very good

  14. Yankeeprepper | May 7, 2010 at 7:07 am |

Maybe you weren’t so dumb!! It’s a great pack rifle/SHTF weapon

One of my older cousins had one of those way back when. I got to shoot it some. Even as a dumb kid, I loved it .

I’m looking into getting one of these. In case anyone wants to know Henry Repeating Arms states the MSRP for this rifle at $245.

I’ve owned my AR-7 for 30 years, and it’s a real shooter. It is picky about which 22 ammo you use (find a brand that works and stick with it), and if you are shooting it a lot, the barrel may start to unscrew. Stick with the 7 or 8 round magazines too, the larger cap ones are problematic. As a survival/backpack rifle it can’t be beat because of the size/weight.

Alot of people always talk about a 22s lack of stopping power, compared to large centerfire guns. but if you hit a person with a couple of 22 rounds, I guarantee they will drop, and a 22 lack of recoil and ease of handling make for better accuracy, when you are under extreme stress. A hit with a 22, is better than alot of misses with a 45.

If you cant find the AR-7 look at the marlin papoose.

AwakeAndDangerous has made a comment :

Cool little gun. I’ve wanted a semi-auto .22 for a while, and I keep bouncing around between an AR-7, Mossberg 702, and a Ruger 1022. Think I might be leaning towards the AR-7 again. After watching a lot of youtube reviews of this gun, I have come to the conclusion that the people who complain about this gun do not know how to keep a rifle functioning.

Sweet Rifle. I’ll have to keep an eye out for one of those at the next gun show.
Looks like you put the hurt on that target.
    Thanks for shearing.

I am reading Cody Lundin’s book right now, he definately knows his shit..

  24. offthegridsurvival | May 7, 2010 at 10:55 am |

Great lil gun ya got there, and great shooting…. I own a Henry lever action 22lr and it shoots like a dream! I love 22s

  25. liabatud67 | May 7, 2010 at 10:57 am |

Thanks Yank. I was wondering about this gun. One of the more popular survivalists out there “Cody Lundin” talks about this gun and other .22’s.

He heralds the “CB” .22 round and how it has a comparable report to that of a high strength pellet gun.

Please, try some of those .22 “cb’s” for us man the next time you hunt.

Mr Lundin talks about getting a group of rabbits in a glen and shooting several of them before they knew they were being hunted.

“Sneak sammiches for the whole family.” 🙂
