See im going camping and i need survial tips becuase me and my friends are gunna be roughing it
and me and my friends 5 girlz and 5 guyz we are like gonna go just hiking we are only bringing like 2 tarps a first aid kit some water proof matches a couple knives and 3 coffee cans and a jumbo book of edible plants and how to cook them
none of us could memorize all of it to much stuff to remember

I am looking for a book similar to the US Army’s Survival Manual. However, the Army’s survival guide does not have a section on urban survival. I live in a major city and want to get information on where to get water, food and shelter in the event I run out of supplies in a war, financial collapse, governmental take-over or natural disaster. I like the book “Steal This Book,” but the information in it is very outdated from the 1970s. Anyone know of some comparable books? Thanks.

I need to find out the basics of stuff you would need for preperation.

I can think of bottled water, cash ready to hand, maybe something to barter with, cigerettes, liquor etc.

Is there any definite list or plan anywhere I can follow to be ready.

LED is the type of flashlight, on wikipedia it explains pretty well:

A light-emitting diode (LED) (pronounced /??l.i??di?/^[1], or just /l?d/), is an electronic light source. LEDs are used as indicator lamps in many kinds of electronics and increasingly for lighting. LEDs work by the effect of electroluminescence, discovered by accident in 1907. LEDs are based on the semiconductor diode. When the diode is forward biased (switched on),electrons are able to recombine with holes and energy is released in the form of light. The LED is usually small in area (less than 1 mm²) with integrated optical components to shape its radiation pattern and assist in reflection.^[3]

LEDs present many advantages over traditional light sources including lower energy consumption, longer lifetime, improved robustness, smaller size and faster switching. However, they are relatively expensive and require more precise current and heat management than traditional light sources.

Applications of LEDs are diverse. They are used as low-energy indicators but also for replacements for traditional light sources in general lighting, automotive lighting and traffic signals. The compact size of LEDs has allowed new text and video displays and sensors to be developed, while their high switching rates are useful in communications technology.

As far as what the best flashlight is for survival really its the one that works!  There are some really great new  Rechargeable Flashlights with Night Lights They’re great because when the power goes out the light turns on!  You’re never in the dark, unless the battery runs out, but its great for small emergencies.

I need to find a good original idea for a presentation and your ideas would be alot of help. I just need a good survival skill or trick when in the woods like camping or otherwise
I mean a skill like how to make a makeshift fishing net or knot tieing

Is anyone aware of a good outdoor/survival training school? Nothing outrageous, mainly something to get me back in touch with my natural instincts. Ideally, I’d like to hear from someone with personal experience but not a must.
