Animal food/Pet food can be used as bait when your meat supply is running out. Also, a few comments made by a very few have been erased or blocked by me because they only contained bad words and name calling. If you want to make a critisism about the information in my videos, PLEASE DO. That is how we learn. But if your only here to bash and use fowl language, please don’t comment because I might have younger viewers reading the comments. That’s why I always say “Shoot hits the fan”.

@dsarti1 why are U dreaming of a farm with animals dsarti1? U have a farm with goats! U have a shot gun! what do U lack? A woman? When food becomes expensive that will rectify its self.

@MrBillTroop73 Chickens DON’T need a rooster to lay eggs. A rooster is needed only if you want to hatch the eggs…and even with a rooster some times the eggs don’t hatch, as Ive found out the hard way. Ive had a broody hen from march and still no hatching, lots of smelly rotten eggs tho!

@watuwaitn4 Good to know! I always thought they needed hormone laced feed if there was no rooster around.

@dsarti1 … I mean that I dream about an empty farm house, not that I dream of the owners dead. LOL. I dream that I can come across a beautiful farmhouse, empty, with all the animals, food, water, fuel in place. Find a shot gun and a years worth of shells, enough seeds for 2 years of crops, and it would be solar at that. Is that too much to ask for? I also dream that I would have my kids jump up and do the dishes the first time I ask. But you know what, It aint gonna happen.

@MrBillTroop73…You only need a rooster to fertilize the eggs. I remember our rooster died and we still got eggs. The eggs can be eaten, but they will never develop into a chick.

  7. watuwaitn4 Says:

@dsarti1 … True, but I can always dream.

@akaalbany … I can honestly say I never ate opossum, yet. I had one as a pet growing up, so I never ate any when I was a kid. It’s good to know about the rabbits. Maybe I can just catch 2 and mate them … rabbit stew x3 or 4 or 5. You know how fast they multiply. LOL

  9. akaalbany Says:

We have an abundance of opossum,. They love cat food. the dry stuff too. they are very good survival food soak them in salted water first. cook with dandelion greens not bad. We were really poor when I was a kid so we lived off the land . You can starve to death on rabbits. They dont contain enough fat, you have to make sure to eat the brains and heart and liver. I have a lot of clover the rabbits love it you can catch them at dawn. More great ideas. :^)

    Great video!

As I recall, chickens need either a rooster present, or special feed, to produce eggs?

@drewstarr71 … So true. I might lure the neighbor’s cat over with the cat food and cat-nap him to be my vermin catcher. Another good use for cat food. LOL
