NZSAS First Among Equals – Part 12

NZSAS: First Among Equals is a world first – an exclusive documentary series about the inner workings of this country’s most famous elite, the “top 1 percenters” of the new zealand defence force – better known as the NZSAS. Based on 3 years of unprecedented access, this New Zealand series includes never before seen footage of the successful few who’ve earned a place in New Zealand’s leading military unit. It observes them under pressure as they struggle to learn a multitude of expert skills including parachuting, marksmanship, demolitions, infiltration, survival techniques and communications – all to the SAS benchmark.

    @rizlas2 😀 i love that movie

  5. 9:51 What’s the #2 carrying that appears censored/blacked out? Doesn’t look like a ballistic shield. Frame charge or thermal device maybe? Anyone care to take a guess..

@rizlas2 ah. I recently watched a documentary called Winter Soldier on atrocities committed by GI’s in Vietnam. It was pretty grim and a little hard to follow, but it was fascinating to see these long haired guys bandy about military terms and describe their experiences…experiences they were clearly traumatized from. It’s interesting to note the number of modern vets from Iraq etc, who apparently fill American prisons. It seems we may not have learned from our mistakes.

  7. @Pricklyhedgehog72 it’s a quote from a movie Good morning Vietnam with Robin Williams…

The only fly in the ointment for the NZSAS operating a covert infiltration into Auckland, is that heap of flying bolts the Iroquis chopper. They’re great for search and rescue in NZ because you can hear them from miles away in the thickest of bush…but for a covert op’? might as well call ahead and let everyone in town know you’re coming.

  10. Adrian Cronauer: [impersonating an Intelligence Officer] We’ve realized that we’re having a very difficult time finding the enemy. It isn’t easy to find a Vietnamese man named “Charlie.” They’re all named Nguyen, or Tran, or…
Adrian Cronauer: [as himself] Well, how are you going about it?
Adrian Cronauer: [as Intel Officer] Well, we walk up to someone and say, ‘Are you the enemy? And, if they say yes, then we shoot them.”

what would you know, who have you served with?

  14. Please my friend don’t think just because I have certain political opinions about my current government means I only think of that, I want to be a serving soldier because I respect the Military not the government that commands it. I want the SAS more than anything but I must take one step at a time, look I know I can achieve my dream and I will with dertermination, guts and my drive to be the best. I am no fool and I know what will be asked of me I just have to work hard.

  15. Good luck kid, you’re going to need it.
First step, if i was you i’d cancel your site or at least remove all of those smarmy, self righteous, whiny uploads. And remember, as a serving soldier, ESPECIALLY one in the special forces, you cant afford to have a political opinion. You may not like your taskmasters but remember, your job is to SERVE. If you dont like the sound of that, the military is not for you. Grow up and stop dreaming. The SAS wouldn’t look at you with your current attitude.

  16. You are right because as the saying goes “Tv always helps to bring out the worst in people” now it’s youtube, there is also another saying it’s actually Russian “Your sorry and I’m sorry” so let’s let sleeping dogs lie. My first finish line is passing army selection so I’ll let you know.

  17. Its ok mate, this youtube stuff is getting the better off people. All being assholes to eachothers, its no good. Hopefully it will become better in the future, and i probly said some things i shouldnt have aswell, and i do also apologise for that. We might meet some day, im going the same way as u, just in another country. And we train alot with the SAS, so we might meet. Nice talk.

  18. That is much appreciated my friend, I apologise for any thing I said that may have caused offence becuase being English I do tend to think the the British SAS are the best but they were the first so I think I can still be proud of that.

  19. I wish u luck on that, and let me know if u make it =)

  20. Well I plan on joining the SAS one day so maybe I’ll let you know.

  21. U dont know that, ur only saying that cause u are from england. Thats ur only ego reason to say something like that, u dont know that they are “THE BEST EVER”, for whatever we know there can be a force much higher up that we dont even know about. If it isnt, the british SAS still aint “the best”, cause the special forces in the world will never be compared/put on a top10 list. There are secrets, and will always be secrets.

  22. I know only the UK, Aus and NZ have SAS but the British SAS were the first and are the very best, no country’s special forces come even close to them.

The 22nd SAS Regiment hold the bar every one else is below it.

  23. if im not mistaken only the UK / NZ / AUS have SAS listed. You are wrong if u think only SAS units are the best, there are others u dont even know about. However, they will never be measured up against eachothers.
