NZSAS First Among Equals – Part 11

NZSAS: First Among Equals is a world first – an exclusive documentary series about the inner workings of this country’s most famous elite, the “top 1 percenters” of the new zealand defence force – better known as the NZSAS. Based on 3 years of unprecedented access, this New Zealand series includes never before seen footage of the successful few who’ve earned a place in New Zealand’s leading military unit. It observes them under pressure as they struggle to learn a multitude of expert skills including parachuting, marksmanship, demolitions, infiltration, survival techniques and communications – all to the SAS benchmark.

They dont do lethal gas or what the nzsas experinced then but i heard they do something similer, but in america US troops are the most likely target to gas.

The CBRN drills are generally done in Basic, and depending on the instructors you have, like mine, you can have a competition to see how long you can stay in the gas bare ass. The record for my platoon after 24 CS capsules were burned was 1 minute 15 seconds, Personally I lasted for about 45 Seconds.

No with in 6-7 weeks of joining the military in basic training you go through CS gas. I’m guessing the NZSAS trainings just maybe more intense.

  8. i love this

  9. You do CS gas training in basic training and every time you carry out NBCD training whether its for promotion courses or refreshers. Hope that helps 🙂

  10. Wow they didnt do CS gas training till they went special ops? Seems strange to have to wait till you just do this. American forces do this in basic boot camp! Anyone in NZ know if they do this in their boot camp as well or was this the first time they really had to face it?

  11. this is one of the best documentary on you tube

  12. Cheers mate 🙂
