Aim surplus also has “sales” on Nagants often for 100 bucks. However, this is a “buyer beware” situation. The rifles advertised by AIm and Big 5 are USED rifles. They were used in Europe as training rifles and were taken care of by green recruit, and fired many times. That is why Big 5 says “rifle condition may vary. Aim says “reconditioned”. This rifle in the video was never fired.

  4. big 5 $99 til next sat

  5. Awesome video!

  6. they were selling those at big 5 for around $100 . nice shot count

  7. LOL! Funny ending!

I was using Silver Bear which is basically the same ammo. My Mosin was throwing it left and right. Switched to Wolf 148gr. Much Much better. Surplus ammo is also super dirty. Its fun for just plinking though.

Wow, you have a striking resemblance to bubba008009…..NOT. Great shooting Yankee Prepper. Looks like that Mosin is a quality firearm. The wife will just have to make room for your new lifestyle choice. 🙂

Looks like fun to shoot. Love the ending. lol.

  12. Good video. That seems like a cool range. Nothing like that my way. It’s nice to see your wife is supportive of your videos. Not the case with me. My wife thinks I’m nuts. “What are we going to do with all this Spam?” is all I hear.

  13. We have the same computer. I love this thing.

Sounds like me, even though I love my firearms too, my hubby is the one with the “passion” you may call it, lol!

  17. great ending…roflmao !

  18. LOL, great ending.

Good point about learning/practicing in bad conditions too. I am not naming names here. I saw vid, not someone I sub too trying to make fire for the first time. It was cold but the guy did not give up, spent a lot of time trying and made fire in the end.

Some of the comments were taking the mickey about his efforts. On how long it took him. They missed the guy’s commitment, persistent and that he learned a new skill.

It’s a 20 foot concrete culvert. Acts as a giant silncer.

Thanks! She is a great partner and a good sport. She was laughing pretty hard at the video too and she barely raises an eyebrow when a new gun shows up anymore. She even gave up counting…..

7.62 x 54 is very easy to get and super cheap. I can order 880 rounds for 169 bucks out of Sportsman’s guide and as many lots as I want. This is one of the most popular rounds in the world. Russian equivilent to the 30-06.
