A Hard Question And A Very Bad Senario.

This is a video answering a question that I get quite often. This is a short list of what I will be taking with me and how I am preparing for a BUG OUT senario to NOWHERE. Preparing yourself mentally for this senario is just as important as preparing physically. Although I am not a “hollywood” fan, the movie DEFIANCE is a great flick to watch a BUGOUT SHTF senario. The movie is based on a true story and stuck to the facts. You are going to need numbers to make it long term.

  1. Hey man just found your channel. love the vids !!!!! I believe in preparing for the collapse and have been for the last several years but you can only go so far then you just have to leave it in the Lords hands.

  2. Yankeeprepper, just wanted to let you know that I found this video and many of your others like it extremely helpful. Keep telling it like it is, I think there are far too many people who have somehow in their minds glamorized SHTF / WROL situations. Keep up the good work!

I watched Defiance an would like to think that I would be the chic that had the dead hand on the machine gun an telling them to “Run” . I went to the holocoust website an when I seen 32 different
Ghetto’s” that were infiltrated it makes me want to take a self defense class to take at least one of those s.o.b’s with me when I go down.
    Peace

Forgedinstone. If you have flat feet, you need to go to a podiatrist and get fitted for prosthetic inserts that will go into your shoes.

It is all about how serious you are about getting fit and overcoming obstacles.

This is coming from a former 300 pounder. Good luck.

How about converting it to battery powered motors on each wheel and then mount a solar panel sail? LOL.

  9. ForgedInStone | April 25, 2010 at 5:15 am |

    ATV? That requires fuel.

Hey, you’re a mad scientist, how do I get free energy for the ATV? 😛

  10. Yankeeprepper | April 25, 2010 at 5:37 am |

Golly dude. I am just a simple mechanic/ mad scientist type.

This is not my area of experitise.

    how about an ATV?

Yankee, I have flat feet and when I walk for more than a mile, my ankles start hurting and I have to stop. Do you know how I can make an ankle brace or something, to keep them in place?

The pain gets really terrible, especially when I walk on uneven terrain and I have to stop for at least an hour before I can walk for another mile.

That’s no way to travel. 🙁 Any ideas?

@Yankeeprepper Thanks, never knew that. I am storing pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds along with raisins and peanuts. I grind the pumpkin and sunflower seeds with a hand grinder, mix it into oatmeal along with some peanut butter flavored protein powder. Top with bananas. This way you use what you store and it is very healthy for you. When bugging out, mix seeds and nuts as trail mix along with dried fruit. As you say, buy in bulk and use it.

Listen, I get ALOT of stupid questions and yours is not one. Alot of people have no idea you can eat grains like nuts.

Try to pick up a small amount of wheat just to try out to see if you like it. Maybe at a health food store and eat it like nuts. just a small amount will do. You will be very surprised at how filling it can be. People at grain on the go like this for 1000’s of years, we just got spolied and disconnected. i use raw grain when I am packing light and going long.

  14. jjakejones | April 25, 2010 at 7:23 am |

Novice question here, but what do you mean by carrying wheat?? Do you mean wheat berries – the grain? If so, how do you prepare them?? Seems to be the most difficult thing to carry imaginable. What am I missing? Thanks.

    YES. Ezekiel it is!

That point about about the Bible containing SHTF scenarios is pretty cool. I think I read that last night in Ezekiel, about there being pestilence in the city and the sword in the country.

I find this to be a well thought out video, but the author needed to stress the value of social grouping a bit more. It is our ability to come together in a group that has allowed us to become the top predator of the planet. Unfortunately it is this same social grouping skill that is our greatest danger. It is what powers the NWO and gangs and terrorist groups alike. The power to get people to work together can keep you alive. So find like minded people to work with now for when SHTF happens

Great vid! Us military guys even have a hard time carrying what we need. Travel light and fast, blend in like a ninja, leave the BDUs in your bag, save your $ for good boots, and some knowledge based books prior. Do squats with your go bag on..do ’em till ya can hardly stand. Always drink plenty of water everyday! You never know people.

  21. thanks for the info…..i am hoping things do not become like you are preparing for…from your view i am defenseless…..yet i am not…..if God be for you….i have gone places where ..angels dare not tread….50 caliber machiguns pointed to my head…surrounded many times by men with guns wanting to do me harm….endless stories..
….to those that are meek…..rejoice……miracles of protection always occurs doing chaos….love frequency is the greatest shield of defense
    blessings

Well like always, my videos are about what I would do. The 357 calibur in a revolver platform has many advantages over a pistol and lessor calibur.

  23. Good video. You recommend the .357 but I would also like to recommend a Glock. Not everyone likes them. I do and have found that they function very well without cleaning and my Glock 35 (.40 cal) has a 15+1 capacity.
I also agree that bugging out is not a good option. I have made three plans for doing it if I have to and they go from bad to worst. I would much rather stay home where I have food/shelter and friends.

MainTightSqueeze- I agree. And I know it sounds silly, but I have intentionally learned to pay attn to my cat. His senses are 100x better than mine. He hears in 360* and his vision is better than mine. He doesn’t stay interested long, but I have learned to subconsciously pay attn and spot what he has sensed. I love him, but all in all, it would eat the poor bugger if I had to. Besides, a cat will hunt and bring small mammals naturally. Which I would keep an expectant eye out for his prizes.

Defiance is a great movie and highly recommended for all preppers!

The TV series Jericho can also give clues to what happens when TSHTF.

There is strength in a good community.
