  • This is actually pretty good infornation. Face it, many of us will die after a nuclear attack – but that’s absolutely no excuse not to try to survivie. I grew up in the swamps near New Orleans, and it’s only recently – with the new attitude that government should do it all for you – that people started dying in large numbers after hurricanes. The Civil Defense materials and information designed to keep us alive after nuclear attack also kept us alive and well after hurricanes.

  • Haha I always said that the real reason it used to be “get under a desk, duck and cover, and put your head between your knees” was so that you can kiss your own ass goodbye.
    But really the purpose of these videos was to make people feel secure. Ever heard of “Ignorance is bliss”? Were they supposed to say “Yeah…well you’re going to die no matter what. Have a nice day :) ” lol probably not.
